Coeducation, opportunities and resistance to the third digital gender divide.

On June 5th, the Elder Museum of Science and Technology will host the Cyber-Resistance Conference, an initiative that encourages reflection and action against gender-based cyberviolence in education, especially among children, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Organized by Opciónate, the conference presents the results of the Cyber-Resistance project, a research project carried out in 2024 and 2025, promoted by the University of Deusto with the support of the Ministry of Science and Innovation.

The conference will include a presentation of the project and the research results by Estíbaliz Linares, professor and researcher at the University of Deusto, and Ana Lidia Fernández Layos, director of Opciónate. It will also feature participation from teachers and families from CEIP Galicia, including José Luis Montesdeoca, director of the school, and Ángeles Jiménez, representative of the Parents’ Association (AMPA) on the School Council.

One of the key moments will be the presentation by Begoña Martel, a teacher with two decades of experience and Zonal Equality Agent for the Canary Islands Government, who will contextualize gender-based cyberviolence in the educational environment of Gran Canaria and propose tools for addressing it.

The event will conclude with an open discussion with attending families and professionals, seeking to foster dialogue, listening, and the collective development of solutions.

Admission is free and the event will be broadcast live on YouTube. To participate in person, you must register in advance through the following link.
