Friday, 9 December 2022. The Town Hall of La Aldea de San Nicolás will host next Wednesday 14th December a conference on “Care, Co-responsibility and Conciliation”.

The event, which will begin at 09.00 hours and end at 14.30 hours, will be held in the Municipal Culture Centre and will be attended by Yaiza Gómez Yánez, a researcher from the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, who will speak about the value of care and co-responsibility.

The conference, which will be opened by the Councillor for Social Welfare, Equality and Solidarity of La Aldea de San Nicolás Town Council, Yazmina Llarena, will also be attended by representatives of the Canary Islands Government, who will talk about the Co-responsible Caregiving Plan in the Canary Islands, and the Department of Equality, Diversity and Transparency of the Cabildo de Gran Canaria, who will explain the Gran Canaria Infinita Framework for promoting work-life balance and co-responsibility in care.

The event will continue with a talk by Ángela María Travieso Quintana, a social worker from the basic health areas of La Aldea de San Nicolás and Guanarteme, who will explain the role of the social worker in promoting and caring for health.

After her, the director of Opciónate, Ana Lidia Fernández Layos, will present the results of the project “La Aldea Emplea”, as well as the results of the study “Women, employment and work-life balance in La Aldea de San Nicolás”.

Finally, the Asociación 8 pies, Alianza por la Solidaridad Canarias, ACUFADE and Radio Ecca will share with the attendees “initiatives and good practices to take care of ourselves more and better”.
