Client: Alianza Libre Europea (ALE) y Nueva Canarias Bloque Canarista (NCbc)
Date of implementation: November 28 and 29, 2025
Service: Training
The First Autumn University for Equality (UOxI), organized by the European Free Alliance (EFA) and Nueva Canarias Bloque Canarista (NCbc), will take place at the Hotel Escuela Santa Brígida and is aimed at women in the political, institutional, and social spheres with a common goal: to strengthen feminist leadership and move toward more equitable and transformative participation in public life.
Opciónate participates in this training space by contributing its experience in experiential learning processes, participatory methodologies, and gender perspective, key elements for the development of conscious, empathetic leadership with social impact.
Our director, Ana Lydia Fernández-Layos, a feminist and specialist in equality, emotional intelligence, and gender stereotypes in leadership, is responsible for delivering two central workshops on “Building political skills for feminist leadership.”
On Friday 28, Part I of our program will begin with an introduction to structural system of sex and gender, the individual and collective analysis of self-image and self-concept as a leader, and leadership styles from a feminist and gender perspective.
On Saturday 29, in Part II, we will discuss the stereotypes, biases, and structural obstacles faced by women in politics, and we will work on developing proposals and strategies for more equitable and transformative leadership.
Through a theoretical-practical, experiential, and participatory methodology, the workshops will promote self-awareness, collective reflection, and the implementation of tools to strengthen women’s autonomy and capacity for influence in political and social spaces, following a feminist approach.
Opciónate’s participation in the UOxI is part of our commitment to promoting transformative leadership that integrates equality, diversity, and care as fundamental principles of a more just and representative democracy.
This project reinforces our mission: to accompany processes of individual, organizational, and social change, promoting active and conscious citizenship, capable of leading by principles of cooperation, empathy, and ethics.
