Description:

The project ‘Digital ethics and participatory cybercitizenship’ is funded by the Cabildo de Gran Canaria, specifically the Citizen Participation Unit of the Cabildo’s Department of the Presidency through the call for subsidies for the promotion of citizen participation and the strengthening of associations aimed at foundations, associations, federations, confederations and non-profit organisations.

The main pillar of ‘Digital ethics and participatory cybercitizenship’ will be a mapping based on the experience and suggestions of people specialising in the fields of digital citizenship, education and the island’s associative world, among others. To this end, they will complete an online questionnaire and will also be invited to the face-to-face working sessions to exchange initiatives, ideas and proposals.

With all the information and results obtained, a report will be drawn up and published which will be widely disseminated to all participating individuals and organisations, as well as on the project’s specific website, social networks and other communication channels to reach the widest possible audience and give a boost to citizen participation and digital democracy through the use of Relationship, Information and Communication Technologies (TRICS). In addition, a public presentation will be held inviting all participating individuals and entities.

The digital space provides endless opportunities for citizen participation and influence on the improvement of public policies and The ‘Digital ethics and participatory cybercitizenship’ project aims to achieve a digital space focused on coexistence, with a focus on human rights, diversity, interculturality and gender equality.
