Opciónate Celebrates March 8 by Reaffirming Feminist Leadership and Gender Equality

14 de April de 2026 | Equality

On March 8, 2026, International Women’s Day, Opciónate staff took our demands for equality to the streets of Spain and internationally, to highlight the importance of women’s and girls’ rights, wearing purple in support of equality.

Moreover, we emphasize the importance of highlighting structural gender-based violence, both in-person and online. Inequalities do not arise in isolation: existing power structures and social systems often perpetuate these forms of violence, reinforcing norms, roles, and practices that limit women’s rights and opportunities. Recognizing and challenging these dynamics is essential to build safer, fairer, and more equitable environments.

In all the training sessions offered by Opciónate, we affirm: “To lead is to transform in favor of gender equality.” Feminist leadership is a political and social proposal to ensure that women and girls can occupy decision-making spaces, exercise their rights, and enjoy opportunities without gender-based discrimination.

At Opciónate, we believe in leadership built through networks and alliances, not pyramids. Our leadership is not based on domination, but on shared power. The support of society as a whole and sorority among women are essential to achieving true equality.

We also advocate for sustainable socio-affective practices in everyday life and relationships: leading means placing care, respect, and active listening at the center of any decision-making process. We fight against all forms of violence and toxic hierarchies, promoting role models who inspire through good practices, equality, and respect for diversity.

Opciónate invites anyone interested to receive personal or professional guidance, join group workshops, or bring this vision to their teams, organizations, or educational centers.
