‘Cruzando redes: Transversalización de género en Valsequillo [Crossing Networks: Gender mainstreaming at Valsequillo]’

From January through March 2021, with the funding and coordination of the Valsequillo City Council, Department for Equality, Opciónate will implement actions framed in project “Crossing Networks” to promote the mainstreaming of gender equality in the municipality.

Within the framework of this project, aimed at providing an institutional environment oriented towards gender equality by favouring interrelations between different areas and collectives, cross-cutting training activities in gender perspective will be designed and delivered to the municipal authority, the Valsequillo Town Council staff and local agents.

Experiential and participatory training workshops will also be held to improve employability among women in Valsequillo.

In its closing stage, the project will launch an audiovisual awareness campaign to draw attention to the role of women in the economic growth of the municipality by promoting their employability.

Included in the ‘II Plan de Igualdad de Oportunidades del ayuntamiento de Valsequillo Apostando por la igualdad en el municipio (2019-2023) [II Plan for Equal Opportunities of the municipality of Valsequillo Betting on equality]’ in the municipality (2019-2023), the initiative is defined as a citizens’ tool for all citizens, within a framework that enables transformation of the municipal reality to ensure the full enjoyment of human rights.
