Servicios: Training
The project “Workshops on preventing sexual violence against children and adolescents under state care” constitutes part of the collaboration between Opciónate and the Márgenes y Vínculos Foundation, within the framework of training activities aimed at technical staff in the child protection system and the juvenile justice system in the Canary Islands. This project is funded by the Regional Ministry of Social Welfare, Youth, Children, and Families and the Ministry of Equality.
The training program, which is conducted entirely online, aims to strengthen professional skills in the detection, prevention, and response to sexual violence affecting children and adolescents, especially in foster care settings.
Through a 30-hour course, the program combines theoretical, practical, and reflective content, offering three modes of participation (morning, afternoon, and asynchronous) to facilitate accessibility for professionals.
Opciónate contributes its experience in emotional education, violence prevention, and an ethical approach to care through the workshops on the prevention of sexual violence. This sesión is imparted by Ana Lydia Fernández-Layos, director of the organization, with professional knowledge in building protective environments, strengthening social-emotional skills, and incorporating a gender and human rights perspective into professional practice.
The course takes a comprehensive approach to regulatory frameworks, detection indicators, guidelines for action, and emerging challenges—including violence perpetrated by minors and in digital environments—from a participatory, interdisciplinary perspective aimed at improving institutional response.
This training contributes to the shared commitment of Opciónate and the Márgenes y Vínculos Foundation to promote safe environments, prevent violence, and strengthen the capacities of professional teams that accompany children and adolescents in vulnerable situations.
