“Invisible Sexism” promotes the prevention of gender-based violence among young people with the contribution of Opciónate and other specialized organizations.

On March 12, 2026 Opciónate took part in the “Invisible Sexism: Key Strategies for Preventing Gender-Based Violence Among Youth” workshop, organized by Ecca Social Canarias at the Zona Joven in Candelaria, Tenerife.

Ana Lidia Fernández Layos, shared insights on gender equality, digital ethics, and tools to prevent and combat gender-based violence, including in online environments. She presented part of Opciónate’s experience and work materials, emphasizing the importance of education, digital citizenship, and a care-centered approach in preventing cyber-based sexist violence.

The event featured other experts in gender equality and gender-based violence prevention, including Nerea Barjola, Laura Aguilera Ávila, and Meritxell Salazar, along with the Ecca Social team. Opciónate especially thanks Ecca Social Canarias and the Cabildo de Tenerife for creating such essential spaces for sharing, learning, and strengthening work with youth to prevent both in-person and online sexist violence. More than 200 students and professionals attended.

Through this participation, Opciónate reaffirms its commitment to support youth and promote safe, inclusive, and violence-free digital environments.
