LiderA – Training programme in women’s empowerment and social involvement.

Dear participant, welcome to this training programme:

My name is Koldobi Velasco Vázquez, instructor of this educational journey you are about to embark on named LiderA – Training programme in women’s empowerment and social involvement.

First, we’d like to congratulate you for the interest you have shown on this training initiative, hoping we can meet the expectations you have of this programme.

This set of lectures is part of project LiderA – Training programme in women’s empowerment and social involvement, coordinated by organization Opciónate Mejora tu vida Mejora el mundo and financed by the with funding from the Cabildo de Gran Canaria, Equality Office.

Throughout this journey, we will share knowledge, skills and attitudes that are both fundamental and necessary in every participatory process and, from a feminist perspective, we will have the opportunity to meet some inspiring people from diverse backgrounds who will design a plan of action to improve their lives, sharing valuable knowledge we can apply in our everyday lives.

This is a challenge you can look at as if it were seeds of empowerment we will be planting so that they can grow into mechanisms of transformation to change the world and ourselves, ourselves and the world is what we are betting on and what we want to sow, seeds of empowerment that we plant, care for and make grow to continue transforming the world and ourselves, ourselves and the world, a rebellious joyful dance.

From this point on, be sure Opciónate is committed to deliver a comprehensive training program adapted to its participants, and we expect that you are able to make the most of the material and content that you will have access to. Opciónate applies methodologies that respond to the specificities of different types of training programmes and those of each group or institution. Our courses always include participatory and experiential elements, with the recent addition of a brand new online learning platform. You can find extensive information on our projects, experience and services at www.opcionate.com.

Feel free to submit your suggestions so that we can permanently enhance the teaching-learning process we offer our students, which we will also embrace as an organization, because the empowerment and effective leadership of young women is fundamental to promote gender equality in all social spheres through fair and active citizenship as proposed by UN Women.

A journey that must be celebrated.

Let’t move forward, hand in hand, as one.
